Frequency Trend Analysis
Average Daily Frequency Trend is an extremely handy number to assess the stability of the Electricity Grid and the efficiency with which the system operators (NLDC, RLDCs and SLDCs put together) manage the electricity generation, consumption and trade across the country in real-time, through a network of National & State Grids. While the Electricity Grid across the country now generally operates at one single frequency (called All India Grid Frequency), there are still some intervals when the NEW and SR grid operate at different frequencies. The number of such intervals has reduced significantly since the two grids got synchronized on 31st Dec 2013. The following charts give a trend of average daily frequency recorded by the respective RLDCs.
